The Blogger’s Corner series is an interview series featuring advice and experience from bloggers whose blogs are older than six months.
If you would like to take part, you can find all of the details here.
This week, we have the lovely Tammy from Litol Mae and Lolly
- Introduce yourself.
Hi, my name is Tammy and I’m a blogger & stay at home mum. I am married to Neil (4 years younger, go me), we have 2 daughters, Evie 14 and Libby 4 and we live in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside in the SW of England.
- Tell us a bit about your blog.
Mine is a parenting and lifestyle blog (I know, another one), but I will give you the truth about real life & parenting, both good and bad, and all of the trials involved with raising a teen and school age children.
- What can your readers learn from your blog?
My readers can learn how I deal with life as a mum and how I explain the good, the bad & the ugly in life to my girls.
They can also find budget friendly, wholesome & ‘usually’ healthy family recipes for time strapped parents, as well as lifestyle pieces including dressing kids (& occasionally me if I have time), lists, tips and the odd craft/D.I.Y.
- What’s your favourite thing about blogging?
My favourite thing about blogging is the total freedom to air my thoughts, to write about how we do things without feeling embarrassed to voice my opinion, to offer help to anyone who may need it, and to be part of an amazing community of bloggers, so willing to offer help or advice at any time.
- And your least favourite thing about blogging?
My least favourite thing about blogging is people (my husband included) not realizing how much work goes into a blog. There is much to learn, and so much work required to try to make a blog your career, that the eye rolls and the ‘don’t you want a proper job’ comments from some people when you tell them what you do can be infuriating.
- Tell us one random fact about you.
I can sing… OK I might not be Celine or Beyonce, but I used to sing in church when I was little and always wanted to be a Disney singer, I’m not too bad.
7.If you could only blog about one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
The one thing I would blog about for the rest of my life would be TRAVEL. I love seeing new places and experiencing different cultures, I have seen so little of the world and dream of travailing in the future.
- What was the hardest thing about starting your blog, and why?
The hardest thing for me when I started blogging was learning all of the technical side. I was practically computer illiterate (at 38 it’s been a while since I had to learn new skills) and had no idea, but an amazing blogging FB group (Entrepreneur Revolution) has walked me through it.
- If you could give new bloggers one piece of advice, what would it be?
My advice to new bloggers would be lose the embarrassment. You really do need to throw yourself in to blogging, be honest, be yourself and be confident. Oh and don’t be afraid to ask for help.
- Is there anything you know now, that you wish you’d known in the beginning?
I wish I had known how rewarding blogging would be and how good it feels when someone else likes your writing. I would’ve started much earlier.
11.Do you have any long term goals for your blog?
I have only been blogging since April and only seriously for a couple of months now, so I am hoping to find my groove and my niche and somehow make this little blog of mine the career I’ve been looking for.
- Who’s your blogging hero?
My blogging hero has to be Katie Ellison (Mummy Daddy Me Makes Three). She is so nice, so honest and travels a lot. I love reading her stuff.
- What is your favourite social media network and why?
My favourite social media has got to be Instagram. I love photography whether it’s my kids being cute or funny at home or some arty shots. I love taking them, and love looking at other peoples. I am very nosy you know.
- Anything else you want to share with us?
I love being able to engage with other people, whether it’s through my blog or via social media. I love to chat (probably why I’m a blogger) and after a really tragic year for us, having a fun and full life for ourselves and our girls is important to me. No regrets.
- Where can we find you?
If you fancy checking me out, you can find me here: My blog, Instagram and Twitter.
