If you would like to take part, you can find all of the details here.
This week, we have the lovely Eileen from Your Money Sorted
1 Introduce yourself
I am Eileen, mum to 3 teens, married to Dougie and living in beautiful South West Scotland. I have been teaching PE here for over 20 years, but I am also a self-employed bookkeeper, financial coach and money blogger.
2 Tell us a little bit about your blog
My blog is Your Money Sorted and I blog about all sorts of money related things. I want to inspire women to believe that by being in control of their money, they can create a life that is happier, healthier and wealthier.
3 What can your readers learn from your blog?
They can learn how to manage their money more effectively and how to use their money to create financial freedom. I blog about money mindset too – the feelings and emotions behind money.
It’s this that often causes women to have problems with money and it’s only recently that we have begun to recognise this. By investigating money mindset, it is surprising just how easy it is to make changes to your money life.
4 What’s your favourite thing about blogging?
The freedom that it gives me. If I fancy meeting a friend for coffee, then I can. Or if the kids have something on at school, then I can easily organise my workload round that.
5 And your least favourite thing about blogging?
I think it is all the things I don’t know. I feel that I am learning new things every single day about blogging and while I love the challenge of learning new things, it sometimes hurts my brain 😊
6 Tell us one random fact about you
I have a massive scar on each knee – one from a skiing accident and one from a biking accident. Thank goodness my legs were always athletic looking, rather than model-like.
7 If you could only blog about one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
Cycling. I have been thinking about starting another blog about cycling, because I have recently taken up road biking and I am just loving it. Maybe in the future I will do it, but I still love my money blogging, so I don’t want to spread myself too thinly.
8 What was the hardest part of starting your blog and why?
It was publishing the first post. I am not someone who enjoys the limelight, so I have found it really difficult to put my writing out there. It is easier now, but pressing that publish button always makes me feel a wee bit nervous.
9 If you could give new bloggers one piece of advice, what would it be?
Join an online community of bloggers – the support that I have found in the UK Money Bloggers is second to none and I know that I would not be enjoying my blogging journey as much without them.
10 Is there anything you know now that you wish you’d known in the beginning?
How long it would take me to write a blog post. I am so flipping slow at it and I really need to get faster.
11 Do you have any long term goals for your blog?
I want to reach more women and inspire them to believe that they can be in control of their lives and their money, rather than money controlling them.
12 Who’s your blogging hero?
Sara from Debt Camel. She offers such amazing advice, and through choice, does not make a penny from her blog. Selfless, caring and a wonderful support to many people in debt.
13 What’s your favourite social media network and why?
I love Facebook, because that’s where most of my followers hang out and it’s a great social space.
14 Anything else you want to share with us?
Thanks very much for including me
